Do you have ‘SHINY OBJECT SYNDROME? SOS?

Chasing shiny objects?

I learnt this term watching a review on Youtube by Chris Hardy. I suddenly understood. All these great offers that tell me I can make money and more money online are all part of a “syndrome”.

I have spent hours and hours on Youtube exploring and researching online work opportunities. Some are good. Many are not available in the country I am located in. Whilst, others are more complicated or require a higher skill base in a specialized or niche area than I have.

Thus its back to the drawing board and my email inbox begins to fill with offers that all look too good to be true. Many of them are available on Warrior Plus, which a part of me loves as I have a special page for my purchases, that I believe I carefully hand pick. Two or three of these purchases are of value. Others, are just a waste of time.

I bought a new chatbot creator, that I do like yesterday. As ….. points out in his review of another product, if you buy any of these for the products they provide and not the instant profits quoted, you are not then loosing money. And this one I did buy for the basic products — my own ChatGPT link, the ability to create different images from image overlays and embed images or links in banner ads, free email templates and the ability to create your own webpages without needing to know computer code. So, I am happy with the product I bought. But has it made me instant profits. NO!

Mr Chris Hardy has through my desire to find that one amazing ‘system’ that will create near instant wealth for me, has taught me how to read these ads that all look good. “Too good to be true!” Well, not quite, because people like me are just that tiny bit convinced enough to buy at the discounted price offered once you originally decide its not worth the original discounted price.

Thus, I learnt a little today about how to spot what could be a scam that will not only take your money, but also use up all that time going through the training.

Now, what have I learnt about my “Shiny Object Syndrome”? It creates the impression that you can create an amazing life. You see images of amazing tropical locations and people telling you how amazing your life will be.

You try to tell yourself that you are smart enough to read all the fine print and research the item they are selling you before you originally click the no button. Then there is that extra discount. Now, you consider is it worth it? Is this product really what it says it is?

You scroll through the sales page again. I find that it implies endless traffic, done for you. I like the sound of that. No need to find traffic. I had highlighted a quote from the sales page of the one I just bought. I still like it. It makes learning how to create basic affilliate marketing pages, presentations, banner adds and other interesting AI based technology driven online marketing easier.

Plus, the one that sold me. A $200 refund if you don’t like it. Thats the line that pulled me in. My brain went to a previous “system” that I bought that told me, after I had bought it, that it spied on other people selling things on Amazon. I found that just creepy. I asked for a refund and Vicki Carter, a Warrior Plus expert seller, came back with a free offer of a different system. I accepted the offer. By this time, I had wasted enough energy and to fight it any more would cost me my calm. So I accepted. They still send me emails and tell me to watch the training and then these pages seem to go to an upsell page that tells me I will be able to profit more instantly if I pay more money.

By this time, I am nearly ready to try the upgrade “bonus.” It could make all the difference. I’ve wasted all this time now doing the “training.” Why not pay a little more for them to give me a bonus that provides limitless traffic? Or does it? I hesitate. That hesitation leads me away from my credit card and the so amazing but must be real offer. And I am back to my normal life. Not richer, but maybe almost wiser. I risked a small extra discounted amount to test the product. I was prepared to find out if it was all too good to be true or not. So, if your like me, you may still like having “shiny things syndrome.” You might be tempted to buy this amazing instant money making ‘system’ or ‘app’.

But by now, you may become a little bit more aware of what you are actually buying and you may test it “at your own risk.” Maybe there really is a ‘guarantee’ and maybe they really will refund you $200 USD if the product is not what you paid for. Maybe!?

“Really?

You really fell for that one?

How much?

It was discounted!

How much?

By 95% !
