Do What Makes You Happy

April Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Graffiti & Street Art”

Finding happiness in a sad place.

On September 11, 2021, the 20th anniversary of 9/11, I had the chance to stand at the base of what used to be World Trade Center 2 in New York City, where I took this photo.

The artists Boogie-Rez who painted this mural were part of a team of street artists asked by Silverstein Properties in partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to help use their skills to create a place of happiness in a place shrouded by sadness.

If you ever visit the memorial fountains in NYC, I highly suggest you wander around the corner and view these amazing murals by artists from all over the world.

I have more pictures from this trip and plan on sharing more of them for this photo challenge.
