Abstract

You might see where this is going: engagement.

“But Wesley, is that really genuine engagement?” Well, you know — as long as you’re not leaving “thanks for sharing” junk on someone’s story or some AI gibberish, take the time to read someone’s piece and leave a thoughtful comment — I find that pretty genuine, yes. We don’t have to pretend we’re all interacting for the fun and sense of community. If that were the case, you wouldn’t need to put your articles behind a paywall, right? We want to make money as well, plain and simple.

By the way, I’ve never managed to hit the infamous comment limit of 100 comments. I still find it quite amazing how people do it. Some folks are surprised by all I do in a day, but those hitting 100 comments? Those folks really surprise me! I feel like they have nothing to do all day, just leave comments. I’m not sure if that’s true, of course. Don’t feel offended now if you’re one of those gurus! If you find it doesn’t take that much time, could you let me know how you do it? I’d love to learn that level of efficiency and time management.

So, what can you do when you can’t leave more comments? Well, I sometimes get private comments from some (wannabe) writers — so that’s an option. You’re still interacting, just not publicly.

Do THIS When You Can’t Write

Keep Earning Without Writing

Picture taken by me.

Sometimes I get annoyed because I just can’t write anything. Usually, it’s not even that I don’t KNOW what to write, but that I have too much in my head. Do you know that feeling? Some stay awake over it, worrying in bed, while others sabotage their own creative process. I can’t imagine I’m the only one who feels this. We’re content creators, but sometimes a mental whirlwind is all we create.

Sometimes, you just have to leave it be. Quickly jot down a few keywords and do something else. Take a walk, mindlessly lounge on the couch watching a series, gaming — whatever it may be. But SOMETIMES, you end up feeling different than you’d like. A feeling of missing something or not being satisfied. You probably know that feeling too, don’t you?

You actually just want to write or create content and make money. I’d be lying if I said I only create content to help others. Of course not! My bank account also wants help, let’s be honest. But how can we keep making money while we’re not creating anything?

Only when I learned about the comment limit did it click.

Oh, and before any misunderstandings arise: just leaving a comment won’t make us rich, right? It’s all about the interaction we receive on our articles. So be nice in the process. Of course, the idea is for people to return to YOUR profile so you can earn in a friendly way with that delightful sense of community.
