Summary

The website content emphasizes the importance of grounding, specifically through direct skin contact with the earth, as a crucial preparatory step before meditating to enhance the meditation experience and overall health.

Abstract

The article discusses the often-overlooked practice of grounding oneself before meditation. It explains that grounding, also known as Earthing, involves standing barefoot on the ground to establish an electromagnetic connection with the Earth, which is essential for human health. The modern lifestyle, with rubber-soled shoes and urban living, has disconnected people from this natural process. The author, who overcame stage four cancer, advocates for Earthing based on personal experience and scientific research, suggesting that even a short period of grounding can significantly improve meditation and general well-being. The article encourages readers to incorporate daily grounding, especially in spring, and highlights the benefits for children's immune system development and overall happiness.

Do This Before Meditating

Meditation has lately become socially acceptable and even somewhat popular. Everyone seems to be doing it or writing articles about doing it. Everything old is new again, as they say.

But there is critical information being left out from the preponderance of formulaic self-help articles on meditation and that involves what to do BEFORE meditating.

Meditation is greatly enhanced when the meditator grounds themselves first before beginning their meditation. Most humans these days are seriously disconnected from the planet (Mother Gaia) as they walk around in their bubbles of electromagnetic pollution. This is one of the gravest threats to the health of the human species and it significantly suppresses many of the benefits of meditation.

Grounding used to be something that was perfectly normal and natural that everyone did all the time without even being aware of it. But that was before we became disconnected from Mother Gaia en masse.

Humans are electromagnetic creatures and Mother Gaia is an electromagnetic sentient being. When we stand barefoot on the ground (Mother Gaia’s skin) we become electromagnetically grounded as energy passes between our skin and Mother Gaia’s skin. That is how we stay electromagnetically grounded. It is essential to our health.

The problem with modern humans is that when we are outside we are usually wearing shoes with rubber soles. These rubber soles prevent the electromagnetic interaction between ourselves and Mother Gaia. The invention of the rubber-soled tennis shoe in the early 1960s was one of the worst inventions ever in regard to human health because it drove a wedge between us and the planet, leaving us dangerously ungrounded.

Most humans go all day long without ever touching Mother Gaia. Some go all year. Some only get grounded two or three times a year when they go to the beach and walk barefoot in the sand. The rest of the time humans exist in a very unhealthy electromagnetically ungrounded state — especially those who live or work in skyscrapers.

Well, now grounding has a new name; Earthing. Often people won’t pay attention to something unless it has a new hip name. Actually, I like the new word. Earthing rhymes with Earthling, which happens to be my spiritual affiliation as denoted in my M***** bio.

A decade ago, before Earthing was even a word, I utilized the practice in my non-medical healing regimen when I was diagnosed with stage four cancer. It’s a big part of how I was able to completely heal myself. Of course, I did it back then just because it seemed like the right thing to do. I had not read any of the many peer-reviewed scientific studies about the electromagnetic benefits. It just seemed natural.

To learn more about the scientific health benefits of Earthing I very, very strongly recommend watching the short film, Earthing, which is available for free on YouTube. Watching it recently I was delighted to learn that I was already doing what science is now telling us to do.

So anyway, in regard to meditation it is extremely beneficial to get grounded before you start. This can be done very easily by simply going outside, taking off your shoes, and walking around on the grass for at least five to ten minutes. It seriously is that easy. I guarantee you that your subsequent meditation will be greatly enhanced.

Of course your meditation will be even more enhanced if you then meditate out-of-doors with your butt sitting directly on Mother Gaia’s skin. It’s okay to sit on a blanket provided it is made of all natural materials but don’t sit on anything made of man-made materials — especially anything made of foam rubber like a yoga mat.

We have chakras (energy centers) in our feet and in our hands and that’s why walking barefoot facilitates grounding so easily and quickly. We can also touch the ground with our hands for the same effect. Digging in the dirt with our hands is even better. That is why gardeners are such happy people — and why gardeners should not wear gloves.

The human body needs to be grounded every day. Even just ten minutes can make an incredible difference, although the more we do it, the more benefit we get. Children especially need Earthing as it helps them develop their immune systems so they should be encouraged to play in the dirt and go barefoot outside daily.

There are two big reasons humans tend to get depressed in winter (or during stay-at-home-inside orders). It is because they get less sunshine and because they don’t get grounded because it’s too cold to go barefoot outside.

According to the calendar it is now spring. It is time for some serious Earthing. Let us all go outside several times a day (at least once!) and take off our shoes. Let’s improve our health and our lives by frolicking in the grass. (Even if you don’t meditate.)

And if you do meditate there is only way to find out if getting grounded first does in fact enhance your meditation and that is to try it.
