Summary

The article provides strategies for writers to generate endless content ideas by leveraging Medium posts, engaging in binge-reading, and interlinking their own and others' writings to create value and drive traffic.

Abstract

The article titled "Do This. And You’ll Never Run Out Of Ideas Period." addresses the common writer's dilemma of finding topics to write about. It suggests that instead of simply reading on Medium, writers should engage in 'binge-reading' and use the content they consume as a springboard for their own work. The author emphasizes the importance of adding links to one's own posts and incorporating others' posts to enhance credibility and increase post traffic, which often fades after a few days. The strategy involves creating new content by adding a personal touch to topics of interest encountered during reading, combining multiple posts into a correlated topic, and understanding that as writers, we are all part of the media or news landscape. The article credits inspiration to two other Medium posts and encourages readers to follow the author for more tips and ideas.

Do This. And You’ll Never Run Out Of Ideas Period.

What should I write about today? Do you often ask this?

This question comes up more often than you think, not just for new writers.

We know that the easiest way to recreate or have something to write about is to directly read on Medium and see what others are doing.

Some even almost copy word for word. Yet, this is not what this post is about.

Have you heard of binge-reading?

You are most likely doing it without knowing what it’s called. (at least for me that’s the case)

If you haven’t noticed post traffic on Medium often doesn’t last after a couple of days. So you need a Strategy just for that.

Adding links to your existing post or even adding other’s posts will bring you more traffic and credibility.

How should you Maximize this part:

  1. If you have a post that you are currently writing about, add the links to it like this:

2. If you don’t have one yet, and are reading something that interested you, then you can write about that with your own touch of tone and experience. By also adding links to your post.

3. You can even combine multiple posts and create a correlation topic of its own like this one.

This would work best for those who are always thinking about writing but end up reading instead.

Think What is Media or News? (we are all part of it)

For writer that is more experienced, they can grab ideas from anywhere by just reading.

This post was somewhat inspired by the following 2 posts.
