I WILL NOT BE IGNORED
Do Publications Really Want New Perspectives Or Are They Saying That to Sound Cool?
Publications that add you for the follow on the next Geraldo

I’ve had it! I’m sick of these gate keeping assholes! I don’t need them, I can do it myself and it looks like I’m going to have to.
It’s just such a waste of time and effort. According to my publications tab I’m a writer for 30 publications, which is bullshit. Being a writer for most of these publications is as simple as filling out a form or leaving a comment.
Getting published is a whole other bag of potato chips.
Two weeks ago I tried submitting original pieces to five pubs I haven’t been published in. You know, the big pubs. My work was accepted and it’s waiting to be published by two.
The other two, I read the guidelines and tailored the stories to it. One of the editors said they don’t agree with my point of view so no… Why does your publication claim to welcome alternative view points then? Does diversity simply mean minorities to you?
The other claimed to be an outlaw rebel publication whatever that means. I gave them a story about the last time I was arrested for running from the cops. I wasn’t doing anything wrong, I just ran. We do that in LA so our friends can watch on TV. It’s an outlaw thing. That editor didn’t give a reason. She just said it wasn’t a good fit. Okay lady, good luck with all that awful poetry.
At least they had the decency to tell me no. But the fifth one is what really pisses me off and the reason I wrote this.
I feel that the only reason they added me as a writer was so they would have another follower to brag about. When I submitted my story their publication bragged about having 137,000+ followers. Now it’s at 138,000+. That’s fine, whatever it takes to get people to read your boring ass pub I suppose.
That’s not my issue.
My issue is letting one of your so-called-writer’s stories sit in the queue for close to 14 days without you ever reading it. You get a lot of submissions, sure. But it’s common decency to communicate that.
“Hang tight, we're getting to it!”
Tell me, “This sucks, fuck off.”
Tell me, “It’s decent but not a good fit.”
Do not ignore me
I’m relatively unknown on Medium, but it’s not because of poor writing.

The about for the publication says it can take up to 7 days for a story to be reviewed. They were able to add me as a writer in 24 hours, they were able to update their number of followers but they can’t be bothered to look at my story after 14 days? Awesome.
My story is about the Buffett family. I’m friends with Erica Buffett, Warren’s granddaughter. I provide proof. This is new information. AN EXCLUSIVE LOOK INSIDE A FAMILY THAT YOU PUBLISH AT LEAST ONE STORY ABOUT THE PATRIARCH A WEEK. The story does not pull any punches and shows another side of the person worshiped by this pub.
The story is well written. It took two working days to write. Erica would likely rather I not publish it. Did you know Warren Buffett disowned her and her twin sister? I explain what really happened in the story.
Sound interesting? Wanna read it? Yeah, I’d like you to read it too.
So now what? Do I self publish? Do I put it in some new writer publication to be sandwiched in between 7 Reasons Your Happiness Will Grow Immensely and What You Absolutely Must Know Immediately About Antioxidants?
Hell no. This is the story that could give me the attention and exposure I feel I deserve. My stories are unique and entertaining. I am not a shit flinger like that pub that ignored me’s star writer. I do quantity and quality.
What I’m getting at is, if you are reading this and have somewhere for me to put it, get at me. I’m not hard to find. Google me, I autofill.
Update:
After deliberating I said screw it. I put it in Walid AO’s new publication The Money Plot. It’s not setting the world on fire due to me removing some of the more salacious elements and opting not to go with a click-bait headline. Or it sucks. You tell me.
Update II: It took a couple of months, but it did go viral. Almost all offsite hits but whatever. It’s getting the attention it deserved. And this pleases me.
