Be A Hustler Not A Juggler
Don’t over commit. Over tasking will take you nowhere
Short-term gains are addictive.
You feel you are succeeding but then you realize you are in deep shit.
Instead, play long term games.
Doing Everything At Once Is Not The Right Strategy
You have a truckload of ideas. You are a multi-tasker. You are a productivity badass.
Still, don’t multitask.
It leads you nowhere.
When I began my professional career, I was excited to work on multiple ideas. I even made a cut-to-cut schedule of how I would execute each of them.
I failed.
Within the few days of my juggling routine, I got exhausted. I was frustrated with the amount of work.
I enjoyed the work but the question was — For how long would you continue this, Aniket?
You know that in business it takes a lot of patience to get things going. Money just doesn’t appear at the surface.
The competition in every sector is stiff. You are a novice. How would you compete with giants when you are dividing your energy into multiple domains?
You’ll feel frustrated. And you will procrastinate.
You’ll think about getting things done, but you will be unable to GET THINGS DONE.
Think In Terms Of Energy
When you work on something, you are putting your energy into it. The more energy you put in, the more output you will get.
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.”
— Nikola Tesla
The more energy you concentrate, the more powerful results you get.
This means that if you want to achieve significant results in whatever you do, you need to devote yourself wholeheartedly to that task.
Think About Time
Let us assume that you are able to work on multiple ideas at a go. When do you expect, you will become good at any of them?— In the 50s?
In long term, although you will be able to create a solid base of 4–5 ideas, you’d have exhausted your years doing everything yourself.
An Alternate Approach
Imagine that you focus on a single idea.
You devote yourself to it. You immerse in it.
You’ll learn a hell lot within a time much shorter than your contemporaries. This will give you a first-mover advantage in starting something that will help you earn.
Once money starts flowing through your funnel, you can invest it in resources that will help you make other ideas work.
You can hire a workforce that will save your time. You can become a time billionaire.
Everything Is Connected
Skills are transferable. You can use analogies to accelerate your domain of ideas with the lessons learned from the first idea.
You just need to discover the patterns and then connect the dots.
Monotony Leads To Monopoly
Do one thing. Become so good in doing that one thing that they cannot ignore you.
Beware: Hustling is not juggling.
