Do Medium Writers Need Catalogues?

A chronological listing of a writer's work would be useful

Would you say that there is an urgent need for Medium writers to have access to their own Catalogue of writings?

Writers on Medium need a chronological catalog of their writings. It is easy to find a post when you have ten, twenty, or thirty posts. However, when you have a hundred posts it is not possible to find the post you want unless you scroll down the whole list in the statistics section.

In most cases, the author makes a catalog of his or her writings and publishes them as separate posts. An automated catalog would be wonderful for writers to utilize.

Your Stories: This is a great section on Medium with a list of Draft stories, Published stories and Responses received from stories. This section is not searchable by topic or subject. It would be really useful if the Your Stories section could be Searchable.

Statistics: This is a great section for an author to view his list of articles, the publications they have featured in as well as the number of views, reads, fans, claps, read-ratios, responses, and series performances.

It is not possible in the Statistics section to search for a particular article if you want to know how it performed. I have not found a way to do this, perhaps there is a method but I am not aware of it.

Sections: A writer’s catalog could also have a section that classifies a writer’s work, as fiction, non-fiction, financial, poetry, entrepreneurship, and other topics with the publications they featured in, to make it easier to analyze performances as well as plan for the creation of future articles and posts.

Author’s Homepage: This should be a page about the author, with an auto-generated list of articles, written by the author and based on the popularity of the posts.

Followers Contact and Collaboration List: This would be helpful if all the information can be viewed in a more concise presentation. The list could include, Active, Non-active Followers, Followers open to collaborations with the writer.

Artificial Intelligence: Perhaps A-I Technology for Libraries could be used for this purpose. This is just my opinion on optimizing Medium in the future to make it more efficient and beneficial for readers, writers, and authors.

With my experience of having worked in libraries, I enjoy having all information in a usable format, easy to access, so that readers, researchers, writers, and authors can get optimum control over the information they need for research and analysis.

As a writer, I feel that this publishing platform is a wonderful tool for writers and readers. With a few adjustments and modifications, Medium can be a more dynamic library resource for writers, readers, and researchers.
