TEMPTING APPLES
Do I Want a Large Monitor, a Bigger iPad or the Vision Pro?
Duh, silly question!

Of course I want the Vision Pro, but I’ll be buying the big iPad next year. I’m very leery of first year new products: OG purchases of the Apple Watch and the big HomePod taught me that. I still do use one OG HomePod, but its sister died in a lightning storm a few years back and it was replaced by a pair of Mini’s.
I’ve heard other people say that their choice came down to multiple monitors or the Vision Pro. They were (and are) worried about comfort, but the promise of an impossibly wide screen sure beats any number of monitors and isn’t all that that much more expensive.
Though I’ve been warned that by the time I configure the Vision Pro as I’d probably want it, I’d be spending more than four thousand plus tax, not thirty-five hundred. If I were still working, this would be a no brainer; I’d buy both it and the iPad to cover myself. But I can’t begin to justify that now.
So, I’m going to wait for the cheaper version supposedly coming someday and see then if its limitations still would give me a decent experience. Though again, maybe not the first iteration.
One thing that could kill my plan is comfort. If I and my wife cannot wear this comfortably for hours, there is no value there for us. Additionally, we’d want it to be quick and easy to put on and take off. I don’t think the current version would make that cut.
And then there’s my wife. I’d want to buy one for each of us, and that likely pushes the price of getting even two Vision Not So Pro sets way above the “Sure, why not?” mark.
Two refurbished Not The Vision Pro sets? Ahh, still probably a hard sell unless Medium earnings start doing pole vaults instead of jumping over hurdles.
Ahh, this is so hard to swallow. Maybe if there was a big electrical storm that blew right through all my surge protectors and fried our TV, both of our iPads and my computer? Maybe those two Settle For The Cheaper Vision sets could be justified then?
It reminds me of the old joke about the two retired guys talking at the beach.
If I figure that my wife and I will die in our mid-eighties, we don’t need all the 401K money we have!
Hmm. Better not count on that. Don’t really want to count on that either!
Oh, heck, it’s all going to get cheaper eventually. The first iPhone was initally $599 for the 8GB model and in today’s dollars, that’s almost a grand, so… But I didn’t buy the first iPhone either. In fact, I waited for the iPhone 4 and felt cheated when the 5 came out!
Oh, these first world problems make our lives so miserable!
