Do Dogs Imagine? I’m Sure Cooper’s Imagination is Colorful
If you know dogs, you’ve probably wondered what they dream about, all the soft barking they do while they sleep. And sometimes that hind leg gets moving, as though they’re chasing… who knows what?

Thanks, Subhi for the interesting Deep Dive challenge, I’ll link the original story at the end.
Guide dog Cooper has a more creative imagination than I, so he’ll answer these ones:
If your life were a movie and you deserved to win a prize at the Oscars, which one would it be? And why?
Cooper: I’d walk away with Best Supporting Actor since I have two cats for housemates who would insist upon getting Best Actor awards for themselves.
If one day you can win the Nobel Prize, which category would you prefer (Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, Economics, and Peace)? and why?
I’d dream it would be for medicine and specifically for research. I would have discovered a way to prevent sight loss in humans.
If you were part of the Nobel Prize committees, to whom would you offer a prize, and in what category? (Bear in mind that Nobel Prizes are offered only to living people.)
As a matter of honor, Mr. Dale my other human housemate and husband of Patricia, received one for Peace for his service as a Canadian Peacekeeper in 1988 with the United Nations*
I am grateful and would continue to do the same, by honoring those who serve and are willing to sacrifice of themselves for peace.
If you could win an Olympic medal, in which sport would it be and why?
Swimming of course!
Labs would take home the gold medal every time thanks to our webbed feet.
Side note about Labrador Retrievers: They were bred to help fishermen by retrieving the nets, and they’ll also bring fish.
This way a fisherman doesn’t have to do all that swimming, and then complain how the water is too cold, they have to change out of wet clothes, and on and on. Dogs love doing that stuff.

If you were able to do a 75-second performance showing your talent in the finals of X Factor, what type of performance would it be and why?
I can hold the sitting and looking alert pose for 75 seconds, no problem.
If I was not a guide dog, I’d be a food and drug-sniffing dog at the airport. I’ve seen the K9 units at work and I’d be a wiz at it, how do I know? I can smell yesterday’s bacon on people’s pants, in fact, it may even be last week’s bacon.
So, sniffing things in packages wrapped by criminals would be a piece of cake.
Where does the 75-secong alert pose come in you might be wondering?
When the K9 has detected a parcel that may contain suspicious goods, they sit next to it looking alert while the handler/customs officer checks the package, and I’d get it right every time.
If you were offered the Booker Prize for best novel, what would be your title, and to which genre would it belong?
We’ll write one in the children’s books category, specifically animals. We’re working on the title as we speak. I say ‘we’ since I will need Patricia, my ghostwriter to pull this off.
Do you prefer to win $50,000 in tomorrow’s lottery or $1 million in 20 years from now, and why?
I’ll take 50k now so we can get to the pet store and stock up on liver, bacon, and chicken-flavored snacks.
I’d throw in one of those treat balls and maybe another soft dog bed or two for around the house.
If you win $10 million, what will be the three first things you would like to spend your money on?
On another serious note: I’d set up a foundation to support animal rehabilitation, for example, zoos that transition animals and endangered species back to their natural habitats, and sanctuaries for the ones who can’t go back.
My heart goes out to all animals; humans need to become better stewards of the planet and its wildlife.

Have you won prizes before? If yes, share with us what kind of prizes
If you consider a cool home and people a win, then yes!
Pat says all she’s won was a pair of sunglasses unless you count a big black dog with floppy ears and an attitude. I’m no slouch, I know she’s talking about me.
What is the prize that you dream about (if any) and why?
I’d have to say, bacon-fried steak, with a double cheeseburger on the side, and gravy. Why? I’m a lab and there’s not a lot we won’t do for food, especially when it involves bacon… and gravy.
