Diving into Midjourney V6: Unraveling Image Emulation Secrets
Revolutionize Your Designs: A Deep Dive into Leveraging Image Characteristics

A new feature in Midjourney V6 seems to have come in under my radar. It's a bit like /Describe, but not really. It enables you to pick and choose stylistic elements from your file of images. You will only get to know it by experimenting yourself. I have created a series of images with a common thread of diving or underwater.
I will give you the basics for getting started and show a few experiments. I am using web-based creation with low style settings and style raw.
When creating a prompt, I click on the little plus sign, and I can upload an image. It then displays all the images I have previously uploaded.

If you hover over the picture you want to emulate in some way, you get an info sign and a trashcan. Click on the info sign to get a list of prompt suggestions, as shown below.

I began with a girl underwater and chose a few of the suggestions. Click on each word or phrase to have it added to your prompt.
a girl underwater, emphasizes emotion over realism, light beige and teal, strong facial expression, storybook illustration

There is not a lot more to say on this subject. You are basically choosing a subject and then finding images of your own on google or in Explore, then choosing some of the suggested prompt phrases to influence your prompts in that direction.
a boy with Blonde spiky hair is swimming under the water, ethereal illustrations, in the style of detailed comic book art, transcendental, playfully intricate

The key to this process is recycling your images. I liked aspects of both of those above, so I got both of them in my gallery and used suggestions to create more.
A boy dropped into water Ashcan School, light cyan and yellow, light-filled, lit kid, trapped emotions depicted, hyper-detailed illustrations, god rays, emotional depth.

Here are some more recyclings.
The first in these three was gained by referencing Henry Scott Tuke, a local Cornish artist who painted young men swimming around 1900.
A boy taking a Deep Dive, in the style of Henry Scott Tuke, emphasizes emotion over realism, light beige and teal,

a full body illustration of a girl swimming underwater with her eyes open, emotive faces, emphasizes emotion over realism, in the style of hyper-detailed illustrations, light gold green and light cyan, water drops, serene faces

Another great tool from Midjourney enables you to dive deep into an image you love and use it to inspire whole new works.
I learnt a few tricks from this process. These two phrases were really helpful and not something I had used before.
emotive faces, emphasizes emotion over realism
I couldn’t finish this deep dive without some dolphins.
in the style of hyper-detailed illustrations, light gold green and light cyan, an underwater illustration of dolphins in an ocean full of light, god rays, joyous figurative art, visual energy and movement, emotional depth, natural lighting, realistic depiction of light,

I hope you enjoy experimenting with this tool. It is another way you can reference existing work of your own or others and create something completely new.
I appreciate claps, follows, subscribing, highlights and responses. They all keep me motivated to document my Midjourney playtime.
