Disdain

Poetic response to Spooktober — Week 2

Don’t make me show you this side of me the side that holds so much disdain for how this world treats Mother Earth supposed-others, the less fortunate ones

I don’t want that side of me to shine sunlight should never touch these emotions but keeping them buried, dark and hidden allow their ugliness to seep out

I will catch myself in a fit of outrage screaming and yelling at those in charge my blood curdling, veins popping in disgust I don’t even want to see me this way

No, don’t let me show you this let me meditate and transmute it all away
