Disappear
A poem

The sun would make it obvious
All the happy faces
And your shadow, just the two of you
You wish you could swap places.
Always easy to be popular
Just smile and be yourself
But whilst the days were beautiful
You felt like someone else.
Not the person that they saw
The one you’re meant to be
But the one who knows that you are lost
And longing to be free.
The moonlight makes it easier
Softening the lines
A little less society
Seems to suit you fine.
Prefer the twilight and its rhythm
The shadow is not here
The gestalt melts into the ground
And you can disappear.
