Life Backward

Dinner for Breakfast

During the pandemic, I began this practice to stop snacking after dinner. And to strengthen my vascular system by eating okra and string beans. Fresh okra is no longer available in my locale or it arrives with brown or black streaks. This makes okra unpalatable in my opinion. When available and fresh I slice it thin and add it raw as a topping over steamed veggies.

Dinner @ 4 pm

In the summer I eat pre-steamed string beans — cool. In winter I warm them up — 6 to 7 ounces worth. No condiments, no butter. Finger-food. One half or one third of a banana with natural tryptophan as dessert.

When I eat the string beans, I feel in touch with the green world of Earth.

Why so early? After careful research, I learned the first wave of digestion takes place over 5 hours. I begin dinner at 4 pm and complete by 5 pm. Five hours later I go to bed. This backward schedule is inductive to a good night’s sleep — sometimes. I’m in my 70s, and I have physiological challenges sleeping all night through. Eating and digestion is one part of the solution.

I lost 100 pounds while trying the backward lifestyle change. I feel better.

Thanks for joining me in life in reverse. Blessings, Passion, and Grace on your journey. May whatever you're looking for — find you.
