Didn’t Fail Your New Years Resolutions Yet?

Here Are Some Tools to Keep You Going.

New Year's resolutions, a fresh start to the new year, a time to lose thirty pounds, and time to cut toxic people out of your life, right? For most people, January is a time to reevaluate your life and nitpick everything wrong with yourself. With 2020 being a crazy year, I know for myself my New Year resolutions went on the back burner. This year I told myself to revisit them and try to hold myself accountable.

Let's be honest, these so-called “yearly resolutions”, actually only last for about two months. You owe it to yourself to at least try this year. Here are some products that will make those two months actually turn into two years.

Workout More

If your resolution has to do with losing weight, going to the gym, eating better, or tracking your steps, the Apple Watch is for you. This device has the ability to track the calories burned during a workout, calculate the distance you’ve gone, take your heart rate, and show metrics for most workouts out there. The activity app lets users set different stand goals, exercise goals, and move goals. These goals are showed in “rings” and every time you achieve your goal, the ring closes.

One of my favorite things about the Apple Watch is the actual fitness app on the iPhone. The app organizes all my data and it motivates me to keep closing my rings every day. Also, the app lets you share your activity with your friends. This tool shows if your friends closed their rings and basically who was lazy that day. By seeing this, it motivates me to want to work out and maybe not order pizza for dinner.

Cook More/ Learn How To Cook

If your resolution is to cook more or learn how to cook, an Air Fryer will be your best friend. An Air Fryer is a kitchen appliance that tries to mimic the ability of a deep fryer. Instead of oil, the Air Fryer uses hot air that circulates around the food item. The food item is placed in the removable basket that is then heated up by a strong fan. The device has different settings and usually goes up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Air Fryer makes it so easy to create delicious healthy meals. One of my favorite recipes to create is healthy fried chicken. The chicken is coated in an egg mixture and breaded with rice flour or whole wheat bread crumbs. Then the chicken can be placed in the basket for 10–12 minutes at 375–400 degrees Fahrenheit. An Air Fryer will make you want to cook every night and trick people into thinking you’re an amazing chef.

Get Control of Your Mental Health

If your resolution was to get control of your mental health…. BetterHelp is the app for you.

Mental health has become an increasingly important topic in the past decade. Many Americans are suffering from mental health now more than ever and are not afraid to talk about it. The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in an economic recession and many people find themselves with more anxiety than ever before. In comes, BetterHelp, a service where you can talk with licensed professionals all without leaving your home. The app provides an on-the-go 24/7 therapist. The app comes with more than 10,000 trained, credible counselors that can help you with depression, anxiety, or any other mental health topics.

Save More Money

Spend less and save more is always the motto until it's the weekend. One tool that has held me become accountable when it comes to my money is my banking app. Most banking apps like TD, Chase, and Sterling bank all have a feature that allows you to see your monthly spending. When I tell you the minute you find out how to do this, you will be shocked.

This feature has saved me from spending thousands of dollars. It is like your own personal financial adviser that keeps you accountable for your spending. Once I saw how much I spent in a month, I put myself on a serious budget. It is a little feature that some people might not know about but truly makes the world of a difference when trying to save money.

Quit Smoking or Vaping

Quitting smoking is one of the hardest resolutions to keep with about only 4% of people actually achieving it. Within the past couple of years, vaping has been added to this category. One tactic back in the day to quit smoking was transferring to an e-cigarette. Now we know that they are not that much better for you. Vaping has had its own scandal within the past two years. Some major companies have been accused of marketing their vapes to very young demographics and even to people who live in minority towns. I think in 2021 it's safe to say we can leave vapes in the past.

Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr is a must-read to quit smoking or vaping for good. Unlike other self-help books, it actually encourages you to smoke a pack of cigarettes while reading the book. Crazy, right? The book is an all-in-one guide to quit for good without gaining weight, getting it out of your mind completely, and have no withdraws. The book has sold over 20 million copies and has helped so many people quit smoking.
