Did You Prepare Your Etsy Shop for Holiday Season?
Let me show you what to do
All it takes are six easy steps you should take to prepare your Etsy shop for holiday season and watch the orders come in.
1. Listing photos in holiday spirits
Just like store workers/owners dress up their physical stores in holiday spirits, you should “dress up” your listing photos. This is a great trick to attract customers as they are already in holiday mood.
Using seasonal listing photos could also distinguish you from your competitors who didn’t use this trick.
2. Make a copy of your listing
You will not update your existing listing, instead, copy it and target holiday shoppers. Etsy algorithm will see it as a new listing and push it which will improve your shops visibility.
This trick will also increase your chances in showing up on first pages of Etsy search results.
After you duplicate your listing, update your listing thumbnail photo for a holiday-themed photo & target holiday shoppers with keywords in your title, description and tags.
3. This one is for shops with physical items
Consider tweaking your shipping and refund policies so customers have clear vision of how long it will take for the product to reach them (the faster the better since many shoppers buy gifts last minute).
Why not offer holiday gift wrap and include it in one of the listing photos? You can add personal notes as well. Customers will love this as it will save their time.
4. Make some reorganization in your shop
Rearrange your products in a way that holiday themed are on first page and in the featured shop section. You could also create a section for your holiday listings.
This will make it easier for possible customers to find their way around your shop and most likely to buy something they like.

5. Schedule a sale
Etsy organizes several sales events during the year (Labour Day, Black Friday, Cyber Week, and Boxing Day sales), why not utilize them for your gain? Customers love good deals, and Etsy spends a lot on marketing those sales events.
Use this by creating a short-term sale in your shop to create a sense of urgency and attract buyers.
6. Step up your marketing game
The best thing you can do for your shop this holiday season is not to rely solely on traffic Etsy brings to you. Instead, take marketing to your own hands and use the power of social media to market your products.
TikTok algorithm is amazing, so consider making some videos to showcase your products and holidays. You can repurpose it for Instagram Reels and Pinterest Idea Pins. There is so many options out there.
Good luck and happy holidays!
