Did You Feel The Power of Mama Luna Too?

Full Moon in Cancer- first of the year

I don’t know about you but the first Full Moon of the year felt hectic, and I definitely felt like I was all up in my feels.

Many things annoyed me, many things made me sad, and honestly I just felt like I was still in such a slumber from the holidays that it was hard to force myself to do anything during this time.

This was not how I ideally wanted to start the year, but it is what it is I guess.

The Full Moon was sitting pretty in the zodiac sign of Cancer.

Cancer is a water sign, represented by the crab, and is a highly sensitive sign, one that is heavily associated with our emotional being.

It’s no wonder I was experiencing a myriad of emotions in the lead-up to and during the Full Moon period.

I truly believe that the Full Moon affects our emotions and dreams, though I know many people don’t deem it so.

We know that the Moon affects the tides so why would we not be affected by her power too, after all about 60% of our bodies consist of water.

Full Moons are a time of shedding what no longer serves us.

During the Full Moon I always create a list of things I want to release that are no longer serving me and what better time to do it than at the start of the year too?

There are many questions to ask yourself during this time, especially with the Moon stationed in the zodiac sign of Cancer.

Have I been honoring my emotions?

What emotions are no longer serving me?

How can I healthily express my emotions?

What areas of my life need emotional stability?

Often we find ourselves reflecting on our productivity and goals but neglect to have an emotional check-in.

Our emotions are so important because they can affect how we move through life and if there are times we do find ourselves stuck in a rut the best place to investigate why this is so, is our emotions.

There is always an emotion that drives our actions, so when we notice inaction or lack of focus we will find the answer in our emotional well-being.

I found this to be an intense Full Moon and I still feel like I am feeling her effect.

In a way, this has been a cleansing start to the year and a reminder of just how important it is to tend to our emotional well-being as we navigate our way through 2023.
