Did Joining a Facebook Group as a Newbie Help My Writing?

A year ago, Facebook Medium groups were the thing. Anyone and everyone were creating groups and touting the benefits of joining one.

FOMO made me hop on one that was purported to boost my writing.

I expected to learn something from:

  • reading others' work
  • having them read mine
  • engaging in discussions with the goal of improving.

So, I drop a link to one of my articles and within minutes, it’s buried under a sheer deluge of articles by other writers.

It was basically ‘dump and go.’
