Descent into Darkness

a poem

when I fell I fell far

deep into silence in limbo in twilight

alone and lost

until I found the light

but first I had to catch the darkness

as it slithered by for it was hiding in the light

a false light a trickster in disguise

but I saw it finally at last and I caught it

deep down into the well of obscurity and madness

it fought back many times

but I remembered what I saw and what I knew each time

and I won at last

and in winning

I found the truth and the Light that was always there

be careful out there, my friends it’s a little bit dangerous

just watch your step and keep a smile on your face and laugh at the absurdity

now that I see the game and understand it

I’m ready for more

because in the end it’s all just a game
