Summarize

Depression’s Foe

My first poem

Photo by Cristian Palmer on UnSplash

Drowning in my mind With no raft to hold The tides roll endlessly I am alone

Desperate to be heard Yet I don’t dare to scream Indifferent to existence This nightmarish dream

The sorrowful harmony Of numbness and pain Serenades me mournfully I can not breathe again

Stealing my moments Haunting my soul Turning me inward I lose all control

Drawn in an out Hold on, hold tight With no escape near I seek out the light

Though hope is a stranger Despair is a friend I take a deep breath This is not the end
