DEP Book Projects
Updates where we are now
First, I would like to say thank you to all of our writers and editors for their support of our ongoing book project. Thank you for being here. I am grateful to have met a wonderful group of writers and participated in writing together.
We had concluded our article submissions.
We are currently still waiting for a few more articles from people who requested extensions. We have been trying to be as accommodating as possible. Life happens.
Our original plan was to publish in August of 2022, depending on putting the book together, editing, and proofreading, this month will be more like September or even October. We will also need people to read the book and write their thoughts and we have to give them time to do that.
We created a WhatsApp group for easier communication, and we currently have about 2/3 of the writers participating in this group.
We are working on putting the articles in the Draft2Digital format in the book once that is done the next step is placing the pictures we would like to add to the book. Thank final formatting, proofreading, and sending drafts out to read to people we identified.
We are working on identifying a title for the book. During our WhatsApp communication, it was identified that there are two books currently out that have a title: 1. Dancing with Elephants and the other 2. An elephant never forgets but I do.
Proposed titles for our 1st annual DEP book project during our discussion:
- Elephants Never Forget, as it is more open-ended
Subtitle: Dancing with life — Essays on Wisdom (Carmen)
- Dancing with Elephants — Holistic Journeys (Rane)
- “Elephants Never Forget”. Maybe “Elephants Never Forget to Dance With Life”. I love the Dancing Elephants publication title. (Bingz)
- Elephants never forget
- Then subtitle Essays on Life Post pandemic from x authors or Essays on wisdom from x authors (Carmen)
- Always Remember Essays of Wisdom from x authors on 5 topics. Subtitle: I like the play Elephants never forget…(Jennifer)
- The title will partly include the 1st Annual Dancing Elephants Book Project (Gabriella)
- DEP Essay Collection, Volume 1. (Jennifer)
- DEP COLLECTION OF WELLNESS Volume 1 (Libby)
Thank you for all the suggestions for the title. Please let us know if you have any more ideas. I like the Holistic Journeys proposed by Rane. I think that title needs to include that this is a collection/collaboration of writings/essays/advice whichever words we pick from the # of authors.

Please see a cover example posted below — just for your imagination 1st attempt, I picked this picture with the road and the gate in a Castle garden in Scotland because we all have obstacles in our journey to health and roadblocks, yet it is a gate we can look through, work towards the opening. Let me know what you think. Behind the gate, there is the ocean never-ending view. The green and flowers represent health and positivity for me.
