The impeachment of Donald J Trump appears to be reaching a climax.

Maybe climax isn’t the correct term. For the whole thing has been like a date with Harvey Weinstein: with Adam Schiff trying to leap on the unwary but not one having the balls to produce the evidence.

Watching from afar, like James Stewart in Rear Window, it is a curiously American affair. Not dissimilar to the slow bicycle race that is the Democrat leadership tussle.

Everybody knows Hillary will be the candidate, but people play along with the pretence: Bernie fleeces the Progressives for cash, that he will (allegedly) hand over in return for another house: Joe Biden is (allegedly) up and down on whatever medication his handlers have him on, to control his mood swings: Elizabeth (fauxcahontus) Warren does her best to be ‘normal’: and the rest of them, well who knows who they are: or cares?

Or if indeed if Hillary has sold the Democrat party back to the Democrat party or cares?

Rather like Hillary at the sight of balloons, the Democrat faithful marvel at each twist and turn of the impeachment hearings. Swinging wildly between the latest Rachel Maddow conspiracy and almost reality, but always with a focus on Orange Man Bad; to keep them rooted in the safety blanket of Dimension B.

For if only they could wish, or scream, or shout loud enough. If only Kyle Kulinski or the Young Turks could sing another siren song of wistful hope. If only… if only…

If only Adam Schiff would name the whistleblower.

But of course, not all, on the left are willing to accept the hypnotism. Given that the British government appears to be distancing itself (via the Times) from Christopher Steele (and not before time), like a blast from the past Kim Iverson has broken ranks to ask, “Are The MIC and CIA Behind The Impeachment Of Donald Trump?”

Before you jump to conclusions, I suspect that picture of Boris Johnson with Joseph Mifsud is not what it seems. Mainly because of the person on the right, Prasenjit Kumar Singh: and because the Guardian, want you to believe it.

The reason I characterise Democrats as passive bystanders, dazzled by the latest shiny, is that whilst it is ‘true’ a number of senior figures are (or are said to be) up to their neck in ‘corruption’ in Ukraine: there is a possible answer for this… namely… the look on Obama’s face when Mitt Romney tells him Russia is the greatest threat facing America.

Keep in mind that everything was going swimmingly in 2012 - Uranium One is chugging along, President Medvedev was playing nice over Libya, there was no Magnitsky Act, no sanctions on Russia.

If you dig around on Youtube you will find a World In Action documentary from the early 1980’s that points out that Donald Trump built his property empire because the situation in New York had got so bad that people were burning down their own houses to escape. He, and others, would then move in and buy up the land.

Which seems a rather good metaphor for this impeachment hearing.

So why the knee-jerk ‘ha, ha, you snowflakes,’ reaction at the news Mitt Romney has not been invited to CPAC?

And why can’t the whistleblower be named… hey?

And to refer you back to Kim Iverson… that is assuming she passes the current Glen Greenwald purity test…. she might have something to say….
