Dementia Takes a Break
A poem about a restful and peaceful night for all.
Last night’s sleep was the best the first time got lots of rest dementia in the house was as quiet as a mouse not once did mother call no yelling from her walls so different is every night some days are dark, some light dementia can rock your sleep penetrating your peace so deep peace away dementia takes a weary night it can make everyone’s night a wreck as dementia gets upset there goes mother’s rest with anguish she detests thoughts or dreams so bad she awakes hurt and sad consoling her I do my best until she returns to a good night’s rest.
