Delights of Being Sad
A POEM
The world seems to have a tint of grey As sadness sweeps in and takes its hold But in these moments, we must not stray For in sadness, there are stories untold
There is a beauty in the lonely hours A depth that only the heart can feel A quietness that can awaken powers And make our souls truly reveal
For when sadness consumes our being We are forced to confront our pain To feel every emotion, every feeling And learn to dance in the pouring rain
It is not a burden to be borne But a journey of self-discovery A chance for our hearts to be reborn And our minds to find inner clarity
In sadness, we can find our solace A time to reflect and realign To let go of what no longer serves us And emerge stronger, more refined
It’s in these moments, we find our truth Our vulnerabilities laid bare We may think it’s a darkened booth But really, it’s a light, shining there
For in the depths of our sorrow We can find the courage to heal To let go of yesterday’s tomorrow And embrace the present, for real
In sadness, there is a rawness A vulnerability that brings us close To our true selves, no filters, no gloss Just us, in our purest, rawest form
And though the pain may seem endless Trust that it will come to an end And with each beat of our heart, we mend As we learn to rise from the darkest trend
So let us not fear the moments of sadness For they hold the power to set us free To find the joys in life’s bittersweetness And the delights of being sad we’ll see.
