Deer Crossing

And deer are crossing on the streets, on front lawns, and through backyards.

There is something so charming and bucolic about Carmichael, the suburb in the greater Sacramento metropolitan area, where my family and I live, because of the small ranches with horses and the deer that roam around freely — taking over neighbors’ lawns and yards with aplomb.

Today is no exception. As I drive through my neighborhood, I notice the ubiquitous herd of deer that I am fortunate to see when out and about, whether running, walking, biking, or driving. Yet, I still stop to take their picture and marvel at their way of somersaulting, prancing, and dashing through life.

What a joy and lovely way to practice physical and mental agility by watching the nimble deer, so near and dear to my heart!
