Deep Sharing on Medium Platform

My observation on deep sharing

Occasionally, some writers share deeply about their lives. It makes one very vulnerable to open up and share about their personal life.

Deep sharing refers to sharing on a profound and meaningful level. For example, it may be about marital problems, a divorce, a relationship with a partner, a business failure, or tragic life events.

It involves opening up and revealing details about their life that they would share only with someone very close to them. They show their thoughts, emotions and experiences intensely.

Deep sharing has become important in today’s fast-paced and digitally connected world. Many interactions tend to be brief and superficial. Such interactions lack the depth and authenticity that deep sharing can bring.

However, sharing on a public platform does require vulnerability and trust. It involves us being willing to expose our inner thoughts, feelings, fears, struggles, etc.

Doing so invites others into our world, allowing them to see who we are. It immediately creates empathy, compassion and a deep sense of human connection.

However, it is left to the individual to decide if this suits them. Once we share, it is on a page that others can read and re-read. Hence it takes a lot of courage to do so.

I guess different people will have different perspectives on this kind of sharing. As for my advice, share what we would like others to know comfortably.

Deep sharing has pros and cons, and everyone must understand a lot about themselves to share deeply. If you think it is a good idea to test it out, you can start on a less personal subject to see if you feel good after sharing.

There is no absolute right or wrong in deep sharing. It is a matter between you and your audience.

However, from the readers’ perspective, we always want to read something real, personal and genuine.

I like to comment whenever someone shares deeply about their lives. I felt like I was given the privilege to get into their thoughts and experience, and I sincerely think that they are very bold to be able to share deeply.

To share deeply or not is a personal choice every writer must make.
