Deep Dive Into…What If?

Imagining how the world could be.

My attempt to answer the latest thought-provoking questionnaire from Subhi Najar thanks for the invitation and prompts!

If you had three superpowers, what would they be?

True objectivity (even about myself) — to see the best course of action for anything.

Flight — to be able to visit my family and friends around the world quickly and without damaging the environment.

Unshakable self-belief and confidence without arrogance — to be able to do anything for myself and others.

If you could meet three celebrities of all time, who would you choose?

I would meet three artists to talk about their work and life: a writer, a performance artist and a musician: James Baldwin, Marina Abramović, and Prince. Because besides Love, Art is the most important, beautiful and powerful thing in the world.

If your life were a novel, what would be its title?

Title: She Tried It All.

Subtitle: It’s not so much about the outcome as the experience.

If your heart were chocolate, what kind of chocolate would it be?

Strong dark chocolate with a soft caramel centre, because I try to keep it a bit protected from negative outside influences, and it is tender.

If life were a dream, what would you do?

Savour it and treat it as if it were real. Maybe it is.

If you had Aladdin`s lamp, what would be your three wishes?

Everyone would feel intense fellowship with one another and the planet — we would all feel connected and interdependencies would be more obvious and celebrated.

We could see and feel the consequences of all our actions, so would consider them in decision-making.

Love would naturally power all decisions. It would override greed, fear and ignorance every time.

If calories did not exist in life, would you still eat healthily?

I’d probably eat about the same as I do now (pretty healthily but not too strict). I actually like the taste and texture of fresh fruit and veg and lightly cooked or raw fish and I’m not keen on meat.

I don’t have a sweet tooth but I probably would eat more crisps and peanuts!

If you were offered three free airplane tickets to three different destinations, which would you choose?

China, because I’ve always wanted to go but never been yet. I would love to discover the culture and landscape in person.

Tahiti, because I love the sound of its name. I’d like to see its black sand, volcanoes, lagoons and wildlife and I love how the light looks from Gaugin’s paintings (although I’m not sure about his attitude to local culture and people, especially women).

Iceland, because the landscape is spectacular and mystical — the immense glaciers, geysers and volcanoes. It is probably the best place to observe and feel the power of the earth.

If you had to choose between a cup of happiness or a river of hope, which would you prefer?

A river of hope because it’s more sustainable and if nurtured it can provide cups of happiness every now and then (which is the best we can hope for, after all!)

If you could make one decision to change the world, what would it be?

Make war in any form by anyone, illegal. War itself would be a crime, not just certain war crimes.

That’s it from me!
