Lifeline Prompt
December’s Third Week Prompt Of Lifeline
It’s time to forget and forgive
Greetings Poets,
Welcome you all to another prompt of Lifeline publication. Hope you all are doing great.
As I have promised you all that, I will publish prompts that will help you all to start this new year with a unique and different perspective.
“Life is a song - sing it. Life is a game - play it. Life is a challenge - meet it. Life is a dream - realize it. Life is a sacrifice - offer it. Life is love - enjoy it.”
-Sai Baba
Life is beautiful, but life can not be perfect. No matter you are poor or rich, no one’s life can be perfect. We are human beings, we can not be perfect in everything that we do.
Perfection is a myth. Despite knowing this, we all want everything perfect. The perfect life, perfect career, and perfect relationship. In reality, nothing and no one can be perfect. We are human beings, not superhumans who never make mistakes.
“To help yourself, you must be yourself. Be the best that you can be. When you make a mistake, learn from it, pick yourself up and move on.”
-Dave Pelzer
We make mistakes, learn from them and then again we make new mistakes. Isn’t it the part or process of life? Eventually, we are not going to learn anything before trying or making mistakes. To learn, mistakes are required. Every time you make them, you will have a lesson to learn from them.
We can learn from others’ mistakes but that does not evidence that you will not be going to make mistakes by yourself.
Here, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I was the kind of person who is afraid of making mistakes. I regret that if I didn’t afraid of making them, I learned so many things. I always tried to be in a certain way so that I don’t make mistakes and no one can judge me.
Life will give you some situations when you will do something that you will regret later on. There is nothing wrong with this. Difficulties hits, when you don’t give yourself a chance to forgive.
Forgiveness is a great thing and it will make you free from all the burden. I remember the phase when I was too harsh on myself. The phase when I was my own worst enemy who didn’t let go of things and made myself feel like a loser.
Why forgiveness is important?
- Forgiveness frees you
- It relieves your pain
- It helps you to build healthy relationships
- Improved mental health
- Improved self-esteem
- Helps you to have a better stress management
There are many benefits of forgiveness. Holding onto something makes your life more painful. However, when it comes to yourself forgiveness is a must.
Why do you want to keep your mental and physical health at stake? Ask this question yourself first.
Show some kindness and compassion to yourself.
Here are some ways how you can forgive yourself.
Take mistakes as a learning experience
Don’t think mistakes are bad. Change your mindset. Take mistakes as your learning experience. Always give your best and the rest will be taken care of.
Don’t hold onto anything that gives you pain
Whether it’s pain, past or toxic people. Don’t hold them if they are giving you pain. Let go of them. It will help you reduce your pain.
Talk to yourself
Yes, talk to yourself. We talk with so many people. But, we barely have time to talk with ourselves. Have some deep and spiritual conversations with yourself and try to understand your emotions.
Admit your mistakes
Don’t hide anything from yourself. Accept yourself and your mistakes. Once, you admit it the process of forgiving yourself becomes easy.
Take care of yourself physically and mentally
Don’t be guilty. Be nice to yourself. Do the things that make you feel good. Take care of yourself and sets yourself free.
“You forgive yourself for every failure because you are trying to do the right thing. God knows that and you know it. Nobody else may know it.”
― Maya Angelou
