Summary

The undefined website presents a reflective poetry prompt by the Lifeline publication, inviting poets to share their thoughts on saying goodbye to 2021, the challenges of farewells, and the anticipation of new beginnings in 2022.

Abstract

As the year draws to a close, the Lifeline publication on the undefined website has issued a prompt for poets to contemplate and express their feelings about bidding farewell to 2021. The prompt to say goodbye to a year is often a poignant moment, filled with mixed emotions of gratitude, sadness, and hope. The prompt encourages contributors to reflect on their experiences with goodbyes, whether they find them difficult or not, and to consider the memories they've made over the past year that they wish to cherish. It also touches on the collective desire for the pandemic to end and for the new year to bring happiness and prosperity. Furthermore, the prompt introduces a poetry contest as an opportunity for self-reflection and to start the new year with renewed hope and enthusiasm.

Opinions

  • The author expresses a personal sentiment that the year has passed quickly and is filled with disbelief that it is coming to an end.
  • Goodbyes are acknowledged as challenging, especially when you are particularly hard when parting with loved ones or when one feels that they will be forgotten.
  • There is a hopeful outlook for the new year, with wishes for the end of the Covid-19 pandemic and a safer, more loving world.
  • The author values the contributions of the poets to the weekly prompts and is grateful for their engagement with the Lifeline publication.
  • Self-reflection is seen as a valuable exercise, especially at the end of the website and the author believes it can help individuals recognize their accomplishments and prepare for new beginnings.
  • The author expresses a desire for a mythical 'forever' with the upcoming</a> with loved ones, indicating a deep emotional connection to others.
  • The prompt serves as both a reflective piece and a call to action for poets to share their stories and possibly participate in a poetry contest.

December’s First Week Prompt of Lifeline

A month to say goodbye and prepare for the new beginnings

Greetings Poets,

Welcome you all to another prompt of Lifeline publication. Hope you all are doing great.

First of all, I am grateful to all of you for submitting some great entries to the weekly prompts. I will try to read all of your work.

The upcoming month is the last month of this year. Honestly, It has been the fastest gone year for me. I still can’t believe that soon the year will end.

Christmas is on the corner. We all have so many plans going on.

“Goodbyes make you think. They make you realize what you’ve had, what you’ve lost, and what you’ve taken for granted.”

– Ritu Ghatourey

Every time, when you say goodbye to a person or a year, new chapters are waiting for you. Goodbyes are always hard for me. No matter how hard I try, goodbyes always make me cry.

Especially, when I have to say goodbye to my loved ones it’s the hardest task for me on this earth. Sometimes, it’s hard because we think that they will forget us.

Goodbye becomes harder when you don’t want your loved ones to leave you. We all would have faced such a situation in our lives. If you are that lucky one who has never faced such a situation then believe me you are really lucky and I hope you will never have to face this kind of situation in the future.

I know “forever is a myth, we have to leave our loved ones one day but still, I want all of them to be with me as long as I am alive.”

No matter how hard goodbyes are, we have to accept them in our lives. Therefore, this prompt is dedicated to 2021 and we all together goodbye to 2021 at Lifeline with the wishes that 2022 will bring happiness and prosperity to our lives.

I just want one thing from God that Covid19 should disappear in 2022. The world will become a more safe place to live and we all will live with love and affection.

This week’s Prompt is,

Are you good at goodbyes? Are goodbyes easy or hard for you? Is 2021 is a year that you would want to end with a happy smile or you will miss this year? Are there some great memories you made in 2021 that you will want to remember for lifelong?

Share your stories in a poetic form at Lifeline.

“It’s sad, but sometimes moving on with the rest of your life, starts with goodbye.”

– Carrie Underwood

Therefore, let’s say goodbye to 2021 with a smile on our faces and welcome the new beginning of our lives.

I hope you enjoyed this prompt.

Important Note

Time flies very fast, but sometimes we feel like we are not going anywhere. Therefore, my question is to all of you is have you ever considered trying self-reflection? Self-reflection is an act of looking back on your life. We all are in the last month of the year. We have so many things to reflect on. It’s a good way to see how much you have accomplished in your life.

Therefore, I have thought of a new Poetry Contest in which you will have a chance to reflect on yourself and you will be able to start your new beginning. Lifeline has already done one poetry challenge before.

Let me know if you all are ready to say 2021 with a great bye and start 2022 with new hope and enthusiasm. Tell me your thoughts in the comment section.
