December Writing Prompt for Pink Hair & Pronouns: Joy
Let’s focus on the joys of raising gender nonconforming kids.
Raising a gender diverse child comes with its challenges. Much of the focus of Pink Hair & Pronouns focuses on advice and support. How to best love our kids through their transitions? How to respond to non-supportive family? How to protect our kids from bullying (or worse) when they live in states passing anti-trans legislation?
It’s been a helluva a year for many of us.
So for the holiday season, let’s shift focus from worry and political action. Let’s focus on joy.
Pink Hair & Pronouns want your stories about the joy your gender nonconforming child has brought into your lives, your families, and your communities.
Some potential story ideas…
- How has your child’s gender transition elevated those around them?
- What grace note moments with your child sparked a sense of joy and wonder for you?
- What happy lessons have come to you and your family thanks to your child’s gender exploration or transition?
There are no right or wrong answers here. I just want to fill Pink Hair & Pronouns with joy this holiday season.
If you’re not yet a writer for Pink Hair & Pronouns but would like to be added, please leave a comment here and I’ll be sure to add you.
I’ll be sure to share all your stories in the PHAP January newsletter.
Please use the tag “Joy” so I can easily identify them (and so they end up on our homepage).
I can’t wait to read your stories!
