Dear Writers, Here Are Three Ways To Get 100 Reads per Article
Avoid the frustration of spending 3 hours building a product with no customer
It has been twenty months since I have been writing on this platform.
And I love stalking other uprising writer profiles winning here.
I admit I was a slow and selective learner — I initially thought that writing more would bring me to where I wanted to be later.
Despite having access to resources to nail it big here, I was stubborn to observe my (old) ways.
Stories behind the numbers
I needed to step back and see my stats to get things right. Some articles were awful, some okay — while the remaining were performing very well.
I would do simple case studies with other authors here on topics — and find a pattern in what they do well. I realized that I have overcomplicated things a bit — to hit it big on any platform when you write, you merely need to simplify your analysis.
You might be stepping up in the gas too much. Like any performance feedback — you need to check your scorecard (through your stats). See what works — and what does not. Continue to upgrade whenever results change over time.
Narrow down to hit the bull’s eye
When you write something, you are catering to a reader
Other than thinking of the reader, you must hit what category they want to know from your article.
If it is about making money, that is a good topic. Most people want it. In what manner can they make money is another topic.
Most of the authors stop right there. They provide a brief list to people — and stop going further.
As a writer, you need to delve deeper. Let us stick to the wealth example.
In what manner can they make money? — putting up a brick-and-mortar or online business?
Who is the business idea for — or what level of effort is required to do this if somebody prefers execution?
When you write articles, narrow them down for the benefit of your audience. You will never grow reads if you keep giving mediocre articles.
Make them feel good and aware.
People read your work because good writers know how to amuse them.
I am not good at making jokes — so I prefer writing knowledge content since I have a knack for learning (as a whole). Again, the target here is to bring value to your readers. Value means setting your reader to act on something that will bring good to them.
If your reader
- Feels sad — reading your poem (if done right) can make the other person not alone in this world.
- Loves travel, your travel photos would move that reader who is plotting her next vacation destination
- Yearns to grow — your inspiring life stories can move him to be a better person
- Want to earn more — articles about making money online can get him started soon
Whatever it is, the target is to bring your reader towards a specific destination.
Key Takeaways
To get more reads, analyze the statistics monthly to understand your performance. Even if you hate numbers — there is a reason why it is there, do not ignore them.
Delve deeper into the topics that are performing well and leverage them.
People read articles that are worthy of their time. Be sure to drill it down. There are so many generic topics out there. They will not waste their time reading mediocre content.
Whatever the topic you write, other than being mindful of the reader — ensure that your article will make them feel good.
Generic articles can never bring your reader from point A to point B.
