Dear Pandemic, Go Away

An angry letter written for straight-up catharsis

You came into our lives uninvited. You disrupted our homes, our routines, our families and our stability.

You’ve separated loved ones from one another and I’m angry for that.

You’ve destroyed lives and claimed lives of loved ones. You’ve taken away something from my family and myself. You’ve taken a few things from us and a few things from me. I miss my partner, you’ve kept us separated.

You maliciously stole my daughter’s senior year and her prom. You’ve stolen her opportunity to walk across the stage. I will forever resent you.

You have cruelly taken away our stability, our plans and jobs we loved.

You have taken away our carefree confidence, you’ve instilled hesitation in planning our future.

You have humbled us all.

If we didn’t know it before we know it now… we are not in control.

Life as we know it can change in a moment.

I get it now.
