Dear Mind

A poem — mental health — overthinking and anxiety ❤

Dear Mind, Will you stop living in the past? Will you stop fearing the future? Will you stop creating a thousand scenarios every hour? Can we please experience this moment?

The overthinking you do… It’s unhealthy. Why do you make me question my sanity? Why do you convince me I’m unlovable? Why do I have to list all the reasons why I am enough!

The trauma and pain inflicted upon us, You know damn well they are all in the past. We’re all safe now, Or as safe as we could be In this circus of society. So, why make me feel unsafe every day?

Dear Mind, I am tired of our constant fighting. Why do you think so melodramatically? They say our thoughts create our reality. You really need to take it easy. Even my pulse can’t take your negativity.

Why do you torture me? For the things I cannot change? Why must I battle with an invisible force inside my head, Just to find fleeting peace? Why can’t you just sit still?

I want to enjoy life for a minute, Because there is nothing wrong with it. I don’t have any problems, But why do you keep creating them? You race at over 400 miles per hour, And I don’t have the energy for it.

Dear Mind, Will you stop judging me? I said what I said. I did what I did. It’s all in the past. Let it be. Let it go.

So what if people misunderstood me? So what if they judge me? You constantly point out how I said the wrong thing Or did the wrong thing? Wrong according to who? You? Just let it be.

Look, I just want to be free From this toxicity. I just want to live in the moment, Breathe easy, And sleep easy. I don’t want to overthink anymore, Mind. Let me be. Let me free.
