Summary

A writer seeks inspiration from fellow cat owners for new writing material after their own cat becomes uncooperative by sleeping most of the day.

Abstract

The writer, who owns a cat that has been less than inspiring lately due to excessive sleepiness, is reaching out to the cat-loving community. They humorously describe their predicament, noting that their cat, Skye, seems to have taken the scientific advice on feline sleep patterns to heart, spending up to twenty hours a day asleep. With camera in hand, the writer waits in vain for Skye to provide fresh, engaging content. As a result, they appeal to the generosity of other cat owners, asking to 'borrow' their cats for story material. The writer shares previous cat tales, including one about buying a kitten from a dubious seller and another fun story from KatieMae, to showcase their work and the importance of feline muses in their writing.

Opinions

  • The writer holds a lighthearted opinion about their cat's laziness, likening it to adhering strictly to scientific guidelines.
  • They believe that a sleeping cat, despite its cuteness, is not engaging content for their audience.
  • The writer values the community of cat lovers, showing respect and camaraderie by asking for their assistance.
  • They seem to regret an impulsive purchase from a non-reputable seller, as suggested by the tale of acquiring a kitten from a backpack.
  • The writer appreciates the concept of a bucket list, as indicated by sharing KatieMae's story, implying a desire to experience life fully, potentially through the eyes of cats.

Dear fellow cat lovers,

I’m reaching out to you in search of a muse.

You see, although I already own a cat — a perfect one at that — she’s stopped giving me writing material.

Scientists say cats sleep up to twenty hours per day. Skye’s apparently got the memo.

As I sit in wait, with my camera in hand, she’s refusing to perform.

While she looks adorably cute lying on the bed, let’s be honest, nobody wants to watch a lazing cat sleep.

So, I’m appealing to your generosity.

Instead of adopting a cat for a story, can I please borrow yours?

I present another one of my cat tales,

Here is a fun one from KatieMae.
