20-DAY POETRY CHALLENGE
Dear Dreams
A poetry prompt for day 8

I always ask myself, how? and why? But realized I should ask, why not? that’s how I began dreamin’ of you every day of my life.
I did tell myself, which is better? starting? or failing? my egoic self replied, “The most miserable is, not beginning something”.
So, how should I get hold of you? I am scared to fail; “Don’t be, for it is only when you have failed that you learn from it, to plan and dream more.”
Never be ashamed if you fail, just try again, if you fail once more, you fail better, so stand up, try further, soon you’ll prevail.
In the end, you won’t have to ask, how and why? rather, you’ll tell yourself, “That was one hell of a ride!” only then you’ll be so proud you’ve overcome, not others, but your old self, in achieving your dreams.
“In your hands lie the future of your dreams — not in your mom, dad, siblings, or friends. In brief, you hold the main control of your fate, you should not find fault on others.” — Josh Balerite Acol
For the eighth day of the challenge, I am bringing up this free verse poetry together with my awesome poet friends who are with me participating in this goal — Bhavna Narula, Geetika Sethi, Ntathu Allen, Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她), A Rustic Mind (Manali Desai), Dr. Fatima Imam and Dr. Preeti Singh.,
Thanks so much to our initiator, my dear friend Sahil Patel, with his version of the prompt below:
