Dear Doubt

In response to the prompt: “Write an RX for doubt”

I appreciate your dual nature: you can act as a signal that something is not right and needs to be investigated. You can be positive, letting me know to leave what isn’t right for me. However…

How many dreams have you kept me from? How many things have you talked me out of? You have a way of showing up when something is important to me.

How many times have you beat me up? Made me question my own worth? Am I an imposter or a fraud? You whisper enough things to make me believe the negative: I’ll never make it.

You are often a signal that something I want is worth the struggle. To keep fighting, remembering all the times that I’ve overcome you in the past. To question to the bone what the worst thing that can happen is. It usually isn’t that bad. To flip the mindset and see love instead. I know you can be defeated.
