I sighed deeply as I slouched in the chair. If there was anything to be learned about working for the mafia it was that screw ups were not tolerated. I took a long draw on the cigarette nestled between my fingers. I blew a cloud of smoke out trying to calm my nerves. Maybe if I’m lucky it’ll all be over quick.
