(30 days of Ramadan Reflections, Day 19)

Assalamualikum ((Peace be upon you)

It’s the reflection of the 19th of Ramadan, 2024 and the topic is-

Humility.

Humility enhances the beauty and elegance in a person’s life. A humble person is always enveloped in love, respect, and dignity.

In the Holy Quran, humble individuals are referred to as friends of Allah, where it says,

“Your friends are none but Allah, His Messenger, and the believers who establish prayer and give zakah while they are humble” (Surah Al-Ma’idah, 5:55).

In Surah Al-Furqan (25:63), Allah praises the servants of the Most Merciful as those who

“walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say words of peace.”

“Whoever humbles himself for the sake of Allah, Allah will elevate his status.”

(Al-hadith)

The Prophet Muhammad (s) encouraged believers to be humble in their interactions with others. He said,

“He who is humble for the sake of Allah and the Hereafter, Allah will elevate his status.”

This teaches us that humility is not a sign of weakness but rather a source of strength and honour in the sight of Allah.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was an exceptional example of humility and modesty in his behaviour and conduct.

Due to his gentle and humble behaviour, no one could understand that he was indeed the beloved Messenger of Allah.

He was extremely beloved by people of all classes in society and resided in the hearts of everyone. Anyone could talk to him at any time.

The Quran also mentions the humility and modesty of the Prophet Muhammad (S), stating:

“It is by Allah’s mercy that you are gentle towards them; had you been harsh and hard-hearted, they would have dispersed from around you” (Quran, Surah Al-Imran, 3:159).

One striking incident narrated in Hadiths is when a Bedouin man entered the mosque and urinated in a corner. The companions rushed to stop him, but Prophet Muhammad (s) calmly intervened, teaching them to let the man finish without causing embarrassment. Afterwards, the Prophet (s) explained to the man gently about the sanctity of the mosque, demonstrating humility, patience, and compassion in dealing with a challenging situation.

Key points for today:

✅ Humility is not a sign of weakness. It’s your strength.

✅ Humility enhances dignity and respectability in the eyes of Allah and society.

O Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,Guide us on the path of humility and modesty, So that we may increase in grace and beauty in our lives.

Thanks for joining with me!
