Day 14 of My 31 Day Challenge To Submit My Stories

It was a self-initiated challenge

I made April 1st the beginning of a new challenge after reading David Majister’s post below.

Before I began, I realized I would only push through to 7 submissions in a month. My posts were longer, making my reader’s engagement time longer, as well.

I found I was more nervous about the quality of my pieces. For that reason alone, I stopped working after 7 posts. David’s story inspired me to increase my traffic and push myself beyond my limitations. I wanted to discover what I could do.

This is close to the halfway point. I have to admit that it’s made me more than happy to give an update to a challenge; I didn’t share.

First off, as I stated in a previous story, I keep my goals to myself. This is a practice I maintain. If they don’t work out, that’s fine. No one is the wiser, and I don’t feel like I’ve failed. See, I use the various tips I tell my readers about.

Since I’m halfway there. I’ve already outdone myself. It’s great. This is post #11.

I know that some of my posts took a longer time to publish. Seeing as I began on a holiday weekend, and our Editors have lives outside of Medium, too. I get that.

There were a couple of new Publications I needed to get accepted to, so that took time.

I’ve also missed a couple of days, posting my pieces. That doesn’t mean I didn’t write. I actually thought David’s post was on writing 30 days straight, not posting. I don’t always give everything my undivided attention.

As well, I’m doing a fitness challenge for myself. We’re also clearing out our place for renovations and preparing for a two-week canoe trip next month.

Some amazing writers have mentioned more of my work:

A vital lesson I learned at the behest S M Mamunur Rahman to use the Alt text when I insert photos into my story. When you use this format, it allows one to insert written descriptions of the photo in your story. This enables our challenged readers/followers to “see” the photos in our posts. I ask that we all attempt to use this feature.

I now have 691 of the most amazing followers. I love when you connect with me. Your wonderful comments mean a lot to me. The way you engage with my stories. All your positive feedback pushes me ever forward.

Finally, I have to admit, there are so many more fabulous members to mention. I’m humbled by your support. If your name isn’t featured here, don’t worry. I will support you more by tagging your stories to mine.

Thank you for reading.
