Assalamualikum ((Peace be upon you)

Today marks the 10th day of Ramadan and my reflection centres on the theme of -

Forgiveness.

Forgiveness holds a central and profound significance in Islam.

Let’s reflect on the topic through Quranic verses and Hadiths.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “Show mercy, and you will be shown mercy. Forgive, and Allah will forgive you” (Tirmidhi).

Furthermore, the Quranic verse in Surah Al-Imran (3:134) reinforces this concept, stating,

“Those who restrain anger and pardon people; verily, Allah loves the doers of good.”

A companion of Prophet Muhammad (s) known for his forgiveness. He was Saad Ibn Abi Wakkas (may Allah be pleased with him). He practised forgiveness so diligently that he would forgive anyone who wronged him before going to bed each night. For having this noble character, Prophet Muhammad (s) remarked that Saad Ibn Abi Wakkas would enter paradise due to his consistent forgiveness.

Islam emphasizes seeking forgiveness from Allah through sincere repentance and extending forgiveness to others.

Prophet Muhammad (s) exemplified forgiveness throughout his life, even forgiving those who harmed him deeply.

Key things to remember today:

✅ As we ask for mercy from Allah, we should also be merciful to others.

✅ Forgiving others should be a regular practice, and we should forgive everyone without holding any grudges in our hearts.

May our hearts be filled with compassion and forgiveness.

O Allah, You are the Forgiver, and You love forgiveness. So forgive me. (Al-hadith)

Thanks for joining with me!
