Summary

Adrian Virani embarks on a journey to earn $1,000 per month by designing YouTube thumbnails, starting with freelance accounts on Fiverr and Upwork, and documents his first day of this venture.

Abstract

Adrian Virani has initiated his quest to reach a monthly income of 1,000 through YouTube thumbnail design. On his first day, he sets up profiles on two freelance platforms: Fiverr, where he has a portfolio for direct orders, and Upwork, which requires 'connects' to apply for jobs. He prices his thumbnails at 5 each, seeking feedback on the fairness of this rate. Adrian has planned a rigorous schedule for his next workday, dedicating time to practice thumbnail creation across various niches, write a Medium article, market his services, and allocate time for personal activities such as prayer, exercise, and leisure reading. Despite an initial investment of $20 in Upwork connects, which puts him at a net loss, Adrian remains optimistic and committed to sharing his journey on Medium.

Opinions

  • Adrian expresses uncertainty about his new venture but is proactive in setting up freelance accounts.
  • He values feedback from others, as evidenced by his inquiry about the pricing of his thumbnails.
  • Adrian is disciplined and organized, having created a detailed schedule to balance practice, work, and personal life.
  • He anticipates low engagement with his Medium article but is undeterred in his commitment to document his journey.
  • Adrian isges the financial risk involved, having spent money on Upwork connects before earning any income.

Day 1 — Earning $1,000 / Month with YouTube Thumbnail Design.

From $0 to $1,000 a month, welcome to the first day of my journey.

I am so clueless, so I have started by creating 2 freelance accounts.

  1. Fiverr: https://www.fiverr.com/adrian_virani
  2. Upwork: https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/adrianv32

Fiverr doesn’t let you market your services, whilst Upwork works like a paid Indeed, where you have to purchase connects (Upwork currency) to apply for jobs.

I am offering my thumbnails for $5 a piece, which is the lowest I could go, Do you guys think that’s a fair price on them? You can check the samples out here:

11:00–11:30 | Pray

11:30–1:00 | Design Business Niche Thumbnail For Practice

1:00–2:30 | Design Sports Niche Thumbnail For Practice

2:30–4:30 | Find A Way To Market Services

So far I’ve earned -$20 because I spent $20 on Upwork Connects.

I don’t think this article will get a single view because I have just freestyled it, but it’s been a goal of mine for a while to write about my journey on Medium.

Let's Talk in The Comments.

Adrian.
