“Dawn of Ragnarok DLC is done!” ~ Me after getting to the end of the DLC.

You know, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla shaped up to be as good as I thought it always would be. Personally, it’s second only to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, my number one fav.

So want to know how good and bad the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC is or isn’t, don’t worry I plan to spill all but first, a little background. Playing the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC was mind blowing and a little bit edgy, but it was definitely time well spent.

With this review, I’ll be looking over several things and really giving it my honest opinion, not that I’d do anything different. With that said, here are things that are really good and not so good.

Story 9/10,

The story was excellent and it did suck how Baldr was practically dead but wasn’t dead, I enjoyed it but I felt the story was a little long and dragged on a little. Like, it was apparent that Odin was looking to rescue Baldr, but he what grew obsessive over doing so which I can understand being a parent myself. Overall, great story.

Elemental Powers 10/10,

I loved this part of the DLC, you got to use Jotun and Muspel powers to get from A to B even protect yourself and teleport; it was AWESOME!!!!! My top 3 powers are:

  • Power of Muspelheim
  • Raven Shapeshift
  • Power of Jotunheim

When I upgraded the Hugr Bracer, I went with another power slot to add to the power wheel. Do this and keep these three powers always unless you need to change which you shouldn’t.

Weapons 10/10,

You know I’m going to say something about this, the Calder’s Fury, which allowed you to replenish health upon every strike you made against your enemies. I didn’t use the Atgeirs, I didn’t care for them but I did get a trophy for using one to cut down 30 enemies, it’s a solid weapon if you’re into it but if not still give it a try.

Shelters 9/10

I didn’t mind the shelters so much, but some of them were just out of the way and annoyingly so. But, it was great having a ‘headquarters’ to go and chill not to mention get to know the dwarves that you rescued.

Length 8/10

The length of the DLC I felt was a little longer than it should’ve been and at times it felt almost endless especially since after you clear a few objectives, you have to practically walk around blind until you open more of the map which takes a bit. Overall, the length was okay, but just a little long.

My final verdict, the DLC is definitely worth the effort and the playthrough. I mean, if I had to do it all again in the far future, I totally would. Here’s a hint: When you battle Sinmara and Surtr, activate your Power of Muspelheim to avoid lava and fire damage. You know, just in case you’re looking to add a little more depth to your battle.
