Dating Your Opposite
You may have been going out with someone for a while and it might have occurred to you that the two of you are opposites. Maybe, you are interested in this person despite your differences and still want it to work. So, what should you do? How do you navigate a relationship with someone that is the complete opposite of you? And can it really work? Though the answers to these questions can be different for everyone, here are a few suggestions.
1. Embrace the perspective.
If your date is the opposite of you, then he or she probably sees things in a way that you don’t. This can be useful because it might open you up to different perspectives on situations that you encounter. You may begin to understand both sides of a disagreement, and you might be able to understand the perspectives of those around you better. This might help you communicate with people that you normally wouldn’t and open you up to the opportunity to make new acquaintances.
2. Balance each other out.
Sometimes, when two people are different, they might balance each other out. This might happen when the two of you decide to compromise on a situation. This may help both of you make decisions in a way that is better for both of you. It might also assist the two of you in finding a new way to do things that works better for you as a couple.
3. Learn from each other.
If the two of you are opposites, then you may have the opportunity to learn about things that you normally wouldn’t seek to learn. This may open you up to new activities and adventures that you may not have experienced otherwise.
Dating your opposite can be a positive experience. It might open you up to new perspectives and allow you and your partner to balance each other out as a couple. So, try to be open-minded. Try to learn from each other, and try to embrace the journey.
