Dating and an Open Mouth
Please close that.
You and your partner might like to go out and do activities together. The two of you might even like to go to restaurants once in a while. However, when the two of you do go out, you might be embarrassed because your partner chews with his or her mouth open. So, what do you do if your partner likes to chew with his or her mouth open and this really bothers you? How do you approach this type of situation? Though the answers to these questions can be different for everyone, here are a few suggestions.
1. Let your partner know.
Your partner might not know how you feel about this issue, so talk to him or her about it. Explain to him or her why this bothers you and listen to what he or she has to say about the issue. Do your best to understand each other and try to be on the same page.
2. Remind him or her that it is happening.
If you have already talked to your partner about this issue, then do your best to remind him or her that it is occurring. This might help your partner stop chewing with his or her mouth open and learn different habits.
3. Eat separately.
If the issue still occurs after talking to him or her, then you could opt to eat at different times. That way, your partner can be comfortable eating the way that he or she wants to and you will not have to deal with this issue.
If you and your partner have been together for a while but you are bothered by his or her eating habits, then talk to him or her about it. Let him or her know why you feel the way you do, and do your best to come up with a solution to the issue that works for both of you.
