POEM ON
Darkness, Pain, Time
And the World Around.
Darkness
Dark house, my room is dark too, Crying out for a drop of light, Sitting in the dark, I look for light, I am in the dark I search for the color of imagination, Oh, darkness, You colored my fantasies in the dark today.
Pain
Listening to music, hearing a vague voice, In a wailing melody, Abstract pain at-last filled my mind.
Time
Through the grass, A squirrel ran across my garden. Stopped for a bit, looked upon me, and then ran again, She won’t be caught today, never will. I think My times passed like this. Time is not a prisoner in our hands, We are not captives in the hands of squirrels, But time is our queen; we are the captives in her hands.
Let the darkness be gone, and a light shines on, Let our pains vanish with empathy and kindness, Let the time heals our differences, And make it a better world; For black, for white, for brown, for mixed, for LGBTQ. A world for humanity.
