Dark and stormy night A dog bawling Whistling of chill wind The heavy footfalls Of a man In a tattered cloak Pacing beyond the inviting crackle of a fire In the muddy ground The boom of thunder Crackling of rain And the hiss of a fire going out The muffled look — yell of a man in pain A dog whimpering The thud of a body Hitting the ground A shadow moving on
