October Challenge
Studio lighting and natural light are the two most used sources for illuminating a photographed scene. They both have limitations, advantages, and disadvantages.

In the studio, you as the photographer, have complete control over the amount and type of light generated.
The combination of natural light and atmospheric conditions can create moods that can’t be generated in the studio. You have to be present and patient enough to capture the moment(s) in front of you. An example is offered in a recent post in SNAPSHOTS.
For me, light and composition are the two most significant components of photography that impact the quality of the image you are creating. I know there are foundational technical rules for lighting and composition, but I don’t let them impair my creativity. Respect for the rules while bending them can make for interesting results.
