Daring Dog Saves Housesitters

Cute neurotic dog saves the day!

Manolo was one of three dogs we took care of while housesitting in Costa Rica. Though he was the biggest of them all, he was the most sensitive.

One of his most agonizing moments was when we would go swimming in the ocean. Though he could barely swim, he would take it upon himself to swim out to us in a vain attempt to save us from ourselves.

I guess.

After trying to get to us for some time, he would inevitably give up and swim back to shore, then would pace back and forth along the beach, frantically waiting for us to return.

His neurosis was adorable and we loved his big goofy personality.
