Dandelions: Amazing Health Benefits For Your Cat… Who Knew?

Dandelions!! They are pretty… but healthy, yeah right!!

What do you think… why would a cat eat dandelions? Do they know more than we do…

Dandelions are weeds everyone knows that…

Let me tell you a story:

One day a woman named Sally noticed her cat Muffins eating weeds…

Sally had a beautiful prize-winning petunia garden in her backyard. She decided to use natural fertilizer in her flower garden… she had read that it was good for the plants and would help them grow.

She knew that some gardeners planted dandelions in their gardens to help deter pests… such as slugs and snails.

So when she saw them growing naturally near her flowers, she decided to let them continue to grow.

One day she noticed Muffins lingering in the area where the dandelions were growing.

So when she spotted Muffins eating the dandelions she panicked and with haste, she scooped up Muffins to stop her from eating the flowers…

Later on, she was curious to know why Muffins would eat weeds or if was specifically dandelions.

Sally was perplexed…as she knew Muffins was a very particular cat- demanding only the best meow chow available!

It had to be a reason why Muffins would eat dandelions...maybe she knew that dandelions would be exactly what she needed…

Earlier that day Muffins wouldn’t eat or drink and was not as affectionate as usual.

Sally didn’t think too much about it then, however, later that evening she noticed that Muffins hadn’t eaten at all that day.

She was then starting to get a little concerned because Muffins is a diva when it comes to her food.

She would rather go without eating until she gets what she wants; as it is required to get affection… and Sally only bought the best…so, why hadn’t Muffins eaten…she wondered?

With concern and curiosity, she decided to do a little research on dandelions and was surprised to learn of all the benefits that they can have for the body.

She was happy to find that dandelions can help improve digestive issues such as constipation, diarrhea, and indigestion.

Maybe that was the attraction Muffins had to dandelions…

Some veterinarians suggest natural plant life for healthy digestive functionality for pets.

So now… Sally is interested to know what she’s been missing out on, dandelions are FREE… there were plenty of them growing in her very own backyard.

What could eating dandelions do for her…she was already being proactive and supplementing herself to fortify her digestive health with probiotics, prebiotics, and fibers.

Certainly eating dandelions would be a great addition to her diet as well.

She read that animals know what plants to eat to make them better if they are sick because they have a keen sense of smell and can detect which plants have medicinal properties.

They also have very active taste buds, so they can tell which plants are bitter or sour and which ones are sweet and also nutritious.

Sally was happy with her research and excited that Muffins followed her instincts as it introduced her to Dandelions- the backyard “Wonder Weed.”

Below is a list of health benefits to be gained from recognizing what’s growing in your backyard!
