Dancing in the Pain
A poem on embracing living with pain and choosing happiness

As I pen these words I hope To not sound like I’m complaining Pray the pain in my shoulder goes away Each day I choose healing over whining
I feel it deep in my bones Not sure when or how I pinch a nerve Yet each morning I get out of bed, Happy and open to the day I shall serve
With a smile on my face and work at hand I go about my random chores As I fulfill my duties to the house, Being present to creativity opens new doors
Ideas start pouring into my consciousness As the pain gets washed away in the shower The spirit of Wonder Woman takes over me Her Lasso of Truth + My ideas penned = Our power
Physical pain is the easiest to manage It’s the emotional pain that’s hard to handle People have mastered lying to themselves Forever hiding their emotions under a mantle
I say you’re braver in being vulnerable It shows the world you’re only human I’ll end my poem with a quote I love From legendary actor Paul Newman
He said “I check my pulse and If I can find it, I know I’ve got a chance.” Let no pain be bigger than your purpose If you’re breathing, take the floor and dance
